Chakra
Balancing And Meditation The Essential Tools
Hindu teachings tell us that the chakras are the important energy centers which are
present in every human being. Our chakras are the places at which energy flows through our
body. The proper flow of this energy is vital to maintaining our physical, mental and
emotional health. You can't actually see your chakras, but you can see their physical
manifestation; major components of our endocrine systems.
Our chakras are responsible for controlling the flow of energy into and out of our bodies.
We depend on this constant flow of energy both internally and between our bodies and our
environment. To keep in good health, our chakras must be in a balanced state.
Each of the seven major chakras have their own corresponding functions related to a
particular endocrine gland in our body. They are responsible for every sensation,
awareness, feeling, sensory and emotional experience we go through as an individual
whether positive or negative.
Physical, emotional and mental stress can cause imbalance in the function of our chakras
and when this occurs we feel lethargic or show signs of physical illnesses. This illness
is a manifestation that there is something not right about how our chakra functions.
To get the most of the harmonious function of our chakras, chakra balance must be
maintained. Regular chakra balancing is key to keeping in good health, similar to the way
that a machine needs preventative maintenance.
Importance of Chakra Balancing There are many different ways to balance your chakras;
others are always being developed to help people reach a state of perfect balance in their
chakras. This is the goal of those who want to have a more healthy, happy and productive
life.
This all begins with an understanding that each chakra resonates to a different frequency;
these frequencies are naturally occurring and help the chakras to perform their important
function of transmitting and receiving energy; also known as prana or chi.
When we are experiencing physical illness, our chakras are not non-functioning, but are
out of balance with each other. The resulting imbalance in energy flow can create all
manner of problems, including exacerbating our state of ill health. Other factors which
can cause a imbalance in our chakras are stress, poor diet and lack of exercise.
Though they may be out of synch and not function at their best from time to time, their
balance can be restored.
Tools of Chakra Balancing: The methods which are most commonly employed to restore chakra
balance are crystals and gems, light, sound, color and aromatherapy.
Colors: Commonly used colors and their corresponding chakras are red (root chakra), orange
(sacral chakra), yellow (solar plexus chakra), green and turquoise (heart chakra), blue
(throat chakra), violet (crown chakra) and white for all chakras.
Crystals and Gems: Gems, crystals and stones have been used in chakra balancing for
thousands of years. Each chakra corresponds to a different color, as we now know; so the
laying of gems or crystals of the appropriate color on the location of a chakra can help
to restore balance. This can help the body properly heal.
And because crystals and gems reflect light which results in various colors, the resulting
play of light and color into the body through the chakra points also result in the balance
of the chakra system.
Light: Light therapy uses light on the eyes, the meridian points used in acupuncture and
the areas where the body has the strongest reflexes in order to deliver the proper
frequencies to restore chakra balance. Light is made up of both visible and invisible
frequencies, including those which are beneficial to the chakras. The spectrum of light is
very broad, so this is an effective means of chakra balancing.
Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy uses essential oils, scented massage oils and scented bath
soaps to assist in the restoration of chakra balance and to help the physical body heal.
Aromatherapy can also relieve depression and stress, provide relaxation and aid in
meditation.
Sound: Sound therapy creates chakra-resonant frequencies and produces a sensation of well
being using tuning forks, soft music, Tibetan singing bowls and other means. Sound has
natural soothing and chakra balancing properties and appeals to emotional response as
well. A soothing, beautiful sound fosters relaxation and balance while a harsh one causes
an anxious state. Sound can speed up healing and promote a higher state of consciousness.
Until very recently, chakra balancing was a difficult process which could take a great
deal of time. However, technological advances in the audio field have brought us binaural
frequencies, subliminal sound and self-hypnosis recordings; all of which have made chakra
balancing much easier to achieve.
